SOAP 1.1
In May 2000, SOAP 1.1 was proposed to W3C in a note (by developers: IBM, Lotus, Microsoft, and Userland) as a protocol for exchanging information in a distributed environment.
The W3C SOAP 1.1 document is simply a discussion note (NOTE). The publication of this note does not represent W3C's recognition of any degree of its content.
SOAP 1.2
The W3C XML Protocol Working Group is currently working on SOAP 1.2
The first working draft was published on December 17, 2001.
SOAP 1.2 was published as a W3C Recommendation Standard on June 24, 2003.
