Stylesheets can describe how a document is displayed, pronounced, or printed. CSS is a mechanism for adding styles to web pages.

CSS Versions

CSS1

As a W3C Recommendation, CSS1 was released on December 17, 1996. This recommendation was revised on January 11, 1999.

CSS2

As a W3C Recommendation, CSS2 was released on January 11, 1999. CSS2 adds support for media (printers and audio devices) and downloadable fonts.

CSS3

The CSS3 plan divides CSS into smaller modules.
