Internet Explorer 8 public beta

The public beta 1 of Internet Explorer 8 was released on March 5, 2008.

Microsoft claimed that by default, Internet Explorer 8 would interpret web pages according to the strict W3C standard.

Previously, Microsoft had claimed that IE 8 would default to the 'IE Standard', while interpreting web pages according to the strict W3C standard would be the second option. This sparked a strong reaction in the web development community, as the 'IE 7 standard' did not fully comply with W3C standards.

However, Microsoft has now reversed this decision, and it seems that Internet Explorer 8 will truly be compatible with standards.

Internet Explorer 8 fully supports CSS 2.1. In addition, it has corrected many cross-browser inconsistencies, such as get/set/removeAttribute, default attributes, Attribute object, and the <Q> tag.

New Features:

Activities (Activity) Provide quick access to network services. Users can find and send information from the web. For example, on a restaurant website, users can click within the web page to get maps, news, and information about the restaurant, its blog, or share it on Facebook.

Source Clips (WebSlices) Is a feature similar to RSS that allows users to subscribe to content directly within web pages.

Internet Explorer 7

Internet Explorer 7.0 was released in November 2006.

Internet Explorer 7 provides improved navigation, web search through the toolbar, advanced printing, instant search, and RSS feeds.

New Features:

Advanced Printing
Internet Explorer 7 will automatically zoom in on the web page to be printed so that the entire web page is printed on the page. Printing options include adjustable margins, customizable page layouts, options to delete headers and footers, and the option to print only selected text.
Instant Search Box
The Web search using your favorite search provider can now be added to the search box on the toolbar, eliminating the confusion of having multiple independent toolbars. You can conveniently select a provider from the drop-down list or add more providers.
Favorites Center
Quickly access favorites, tab groups, browsing history, and RSS feed subscriptions. The Favorites Center can be expanded as needed and can be positioned freely for easy access.
RSS Feeds
Internet Explorer 7 can automatically detect RSS feeds on sites and light up the icons on the toolbar. You can click on the icons to preview and subscribe to RSS feeds, so you will be notified automatically when the content is updated. You can read RSS feeds directly in the browser, browse important events, and use search items or specific site categories to filter views.
Tabbed Browsing
View multiple sites in a single browser window. Switch easily between sites using the tabs at the top of the browser window.
Quick Tabs
By displaying all thumbnails in a single window, you can easily select and locate tabs that are open.
Tab Groups
Tabs can be grouped and saved by logical categories for easy access to multiple tabs with a single click. Tab groups can be conveniently set as the home group so that the entire tab group can be opened each time Internet Explorer is launched.
Page Zoom
Zoom in on a single page, including text and images, so that you can focus on specific content or make it easier for visually impaired users to see the content more clearly.
