WSDL 1.1
作为一种可描述 Web Services 的 XML 格式，WSDL 1.1 于 2001 年 3 月曾在一份记录中被建议到 W3C（由Ariba、IBM 以及 Microsoft）。
此记录还描述了如何结合 SOAP 1.1、HTTP GET/POST 以及 MIME 来使用 WSDL。
W3C WSDL 1.1 仅仅是用于讨论的记录（NOTE）。此记录的发布不代表 W3C 对其任何程度的认可。
WSDL 1.2
第一份工作草案发布于 2001 年 12月 17 日。
最新的工作草案发布于 2003 年 6月 11 日。
WSDL 2.0
W3C 的 XML Protocol 工作组目前正在工作于 WSDL 2.0。
