XSLT <xsl:import> Element

Definition and Usage

The <xsl:import> element is a top-level element used to insert the content of one style sheet into another style sheet.

Note:The priority of the imported style is lower than that of the exported style sheet.

Note:This element must be the first child of <xsl:stylesheet> or <xsl:transform>.

Note:Netscape 6 does not support the import precedence rule, so the behavior of this element is the same as <xsl:include>.

Syntax

<xsl:import href="URI"/>

Attribute

href URI Required. Specifies the URI of the imported style sheet.

Example 1

Assuming you have a style sheet file named "cdcatalog_ex3.xsl":

<xsl:template match="/">

The second stylesheet named "cdcatalog_import.xsl" will import "cdcatalog_ex3.xsl":
