XML DOM prefix property

Definition and Usage

prefix Sets or returns the namespace prefix of the node.

Syntax

Sets the namespace prefix:

nodeObject.prefix=prefix

Returns the namespace prefix:

nodeObject.prefix

Technical Details

Return value: A string representing the namespace prefix of the node; if the node has no namespace, it returns null.
DOM Version: Core Level 2 Node Object

Example

The following code loads "books_ns.xml" into xmlDoc and returns the namespace prefix of the <title> element:
