XML DOM ownerDocument Property

Definition and Usage

ownerDocument The property returns the root element (document object) of the node.

Syntax

nodeObject.ownerDocument

Example

The following code loads "books.xml" into xmlDoc and returns the root element of the first <title> node:

var xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() {
   if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) {
       myFunction(this);
   }
};
xhttp.open("GET", "books.xml", true);
xhttp.send();
