Definition and Usage

namespaceURI This property returns the URI of the namespace of the selected element.

If the selected node is not an element or attribute, this property always returns NULL.

Syntax

elementNode.namespaceURI

Example

The following code loads "books_ns.xml" into xmlDoc and retrieves the namespace URI from the first <title> element:

var xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() {
   if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) {
       myFunction(this);
   }
