XML DOM nodeName attribute

Definition and Usage

nodeName The attribute returns the name of the node based on its type.

Syntax

documentObject.nodeName

Example 1

The following code loads "books.xml" into xmlDoc and displays the nodeName and nodeType of the root node:

var xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() {
   if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) {
       myFunction(this);
   }
