XML DOM splitText() Method

Definition and Usage

splitText() The method splits the text node into two nodes at the specified offset.

This function returns a node containing the text after the offset.

The text before the offset is retained in the original text node.

Syntax

splitText(offset)
Parameter Description
offset Required. Specifies where to split the text node. The offset value starts from zero.

Example

The following code loads "books.xml" into xmlDoc and splits the text node after the first word:

var xhttp = new XMLHttpRequest();
xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() {
   if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) {
       myFunction(this);
   {}
};
xhttp.open("GET", "books.xml", true);
xhttp.send();
