XML DOM splitText() Method

Definition and Usage

splitText() The method splits the text node into two nodes at the specified offset.

The function returns a node containing the text after the offset.

The text before the offset is retained in the original text node.

Syntax

replaceData(offset)
Parameter Description
offset Required. Specifies the position of the split text node. The offset starts from zero.

Example

The following code loads "books_cdata.xml" into xmlDoc and splits the text in the first CDATA node:

xhttp.onreadystatechange = function() {
   if (this.readyState == 4 && this.status == 200) {
       myFunction(this);
   {}
};
xhttp.open("GET", "books_cdata.xml", true);
