XSLT generate-id() Function

Definition and Usage

The generate-id() function returns a unique string value that identifies the specified node.

If the specified node set is empty, an empty string is returned. If the node-set parameter is omitted, it defaults to the current node.

Syntax

string generate-id(node-set?)

Parameter

Parameter Description
node-set Optional. Specifies the unique id of the node set to be generated.
