XSLT <xsl:value-of> Element
Definition and Usage
The <xsl:value-of> element can extract the value of the selected node.
The <xsl:value-of> element can be used to select the value of an XML element and output it.
Note:The value of the (required) select attribute is an XPath expression. It works like a location in the file system, for example, using a slash to select a subdirectory.
Syntax
<xsl:value-of select="expression" disable-output-escaping="yes|no"/>
Attribute
Attribute | Value | Description |
---|---|---|
select | expression | Required. XPath expression that specifies which node/attribute to extract the value from. |
disable-output-escaping |
|
The default value is "no". If the value is "yes", text nodes generated by instantiating the <xsl:text> element will not be escaped when output. For example, if set to "yes", "<" will not be converted. If set to "no", it is output as "<". |
