Canvas strokeRect() Method

Definition and Usage

strokeRect() Method to draw a rectangle (without filling). The default stroke color is black.

Hint:Please use strokeStyle Properties to set the color, gradient, or pattern of the stroke.

Example

Draw a 150*100 pixel rectangle:

ctx.strokeRect(20,20,150,100);

Syntax

context.strokeRect(x,y,width,height);

Parameter value

Parameter Description
x The x-coordinate of the top-left corner of the rectangle.
y The y-coordinate of the top-left corner of the rectangle.
width The width of the rectangle, measured in pixels.
height The height of the rectangle, in pixels.

Note:Internet Explorer 8 and earlier versions do not support the <canvas> element.
