Definition and usage
The border-top-style sets the style of the top border of the element.
The border may only appear if this value is not none.
In CSS1, the HTML user agent only needs to support solid and none.

Attribute value
Value | Description |
---|---|
none | Defines a border without borders. |
hidden | It is the same as "none", except when applied to tables. For tables, "hidden" is used to resolve border conflicts. |
dotted | Defines a dotted border. It is displayed as a solid line in most browsers. |
dashed | Defines a dashed line. It is displayed as a solid line in most browsers. |
solid | Defines a solid line. |
double | Defines double lines. The width of the double lines is equal to the value of border-width. |
groove | Defines a 3D groove border. Its effect depends on the value of border-color. |
ridge | Defines a 3D bevel border. Its effect depends on the value of border-color. |
inset | Defines a 3D inset border. Its effect depends on the value of border-color. |
outset | Defines a 3D outset border. Its effect depends on the value of border-color. |
inherit | Specifies that the border style should be inherited from the parent element. |
