The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), founded on April 29, 1961, has a giant panda as its logo. The ultimate goal of the World Wide Fund for Nature is to stop and ultimately reverse the accelerated deterioration of the Earth's natural environment and help create a future where humans live in harmony with nature.
In 1980, WWF officially arrived in China, invited by the Chinese government to carry out the protection of giant pandas and their habitats. In 1996, it established an office in Beijing. To date, WWF has established offices in eight cities in China, with more than 100 employees, and has carried out a wide range of work including species, forests, freshwater and oceans, energy and climate change, environmental education, and wildlife trade. The main task of WWF China is to provide solutions to achieve the dual goals of reducing China's ecological impact on the global environment and improving people's livelihoods.
